For everyone who helped to make our “Annual Night Out Against Crime Party”, a big success, many thanks. For those of you who attended, the music, food and friends were fantastic. For those of you who missed it, you missed a great time. I would like to thank the Band, Soulful Rock, for giving us some great sound and getting people to dance. I believe everyone had a fantastic time.
Our next meeting will be Tuesday, November 8, 2016, for 7:00 pm, in the Golden Age Center, at Jefferson Playground. Paul Johnston will be our guest speaker along with several Department heads from Jefferson Parish. The topic of discussion will be the process, progress, problems, and hopefully, solutions associated with the Newman avenue Project
We will also have nominations for Officers at this meeting. All offices are up for election including President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary. Any one wishing to run for these offices should have someone to nominate and another to second their nomination. They must also be present to accept the nomination. If more than one person is nominated for any one office, an election will be held at our January 14, 2017 meeting. All elected officers will be instated into office that night.
The Officers and Advisory Board Members would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, and a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.
Again, our next membership meeting will be Tuesday, November 8th, for 7:00m, in the Jefferson Playground gymnasium on the 2nd floor. I hope to see all of you there.
